There is a specific fundraising campaign underway to benefit men's and women's tennis. Over 300 former Samford tennis players have been contacted and asked to contribute to the completion of a new tennis facility. A generous gift was given in honor of Darwin C. Hardison which resulted in the state of the art scoreboard now in place. The gift also provided a strong financial foundation for the construction of a facility to house offices and locker rooms. An additional $45,000 is needed to complete the project, so the decision was made to contact former players and seek their help.

Donations have begun to come in with amounts ranging from $25 to $500. This effort will hopefully yield the financial results needed, but just as important it will re-establish contact with former student-athletes which has been a goal all along. Once these improvements are made, the Samford Tennis Center will rank among the finest in the nation.
