Samford's women's tennis team defeated Louisiana Tech 4-3 Friday on a gorgeous spring afternoon. The Bulldogs (3-4) won two out of three doubles matches to win the doubles point, and went on to capture wins at No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Samford has a quick turnaround, playing its next home match Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against Alabama State.
Emily Nunnally and Katie Crawford started the Bulldogs off with a win at No. 1 doubles, 8-4 over La. Tech's Anabella Duque and Holly Ready. Jenny Walls and Jamie Aid each had two wins on the afternoon. Walls and Aid teamed up to defeat Danielle Landry

Nunnally won her second match of the day, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1, over Saharai Uriarte at No. 1 singles. Walls won for the second time, 6-1, 6-0 over Majors at No. 5 singles. And Aid defeated Landry, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 6 singles to secure the win.
Samford looks to even its season won-loss record Saturday morning against Alabama State. Play begins at 9:30 a.m. The men's team will be in action as well, facing the same opponent at the same time.
