The Samford Women's Intercollegiate Golf Tournament has reached its capacity of 20 teams, Samford Head Coach Ian Thompson announced. The tournament, in its second year, will take place March 22-23 at the Timberline golf course in Calera, Ala., just 20 minutes south of Birmingham, Ala.
Joining Samford in the tournament will be: Birmingham-Southern, UAB, Jacksonville State, Troy State, University of South Alabama, Murray State, Middle Tennessee State, Nicholls State, Lipscomb, Gardner-Webb, Tennessee Tech, East Tennessee State, Wofford, Western Kentucky, Belmont, Cincinnati, Southern Miss and Austin Peay. Defending champion Alabama had to withdrawal from the tournament due to a scheduling conflict.
The Bulldogs finished seventh in last year's event. This year's tournament will be 36-holes with teams playing 18-holes per day.
