BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University football team practiced for about 45 minutes in helmets and shorts Monday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs worked on correcting mistakes from last Saturday's 24-21 loss at Murray State.

"All we know to do is to come out and continue to work," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "And that is all we can do. This past week, we didn't play four quarters of football, we played two quarters. We still had a chance to win the football game after just playing two quarters. These guys are going to understand this week that it takes four quarters, and that is our only chance. Even then, you might not win, but that is our only chance."

"This bunch will continue to come out and work hard, because that is the kind of character they have," Gray said. "We will be ready to have a couple of hard days beginning tomorrow. We will get a good game plan in for UT-Martin. This is another opportunity for us to win a game in the conference, and that is something we have not accomplished, so we need to get it done this week."

Samford and Tennessee-Martin are scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com. The game will also be televised on a tape-delay basis by ACN Sports. The broadcast can be seen on WOTM-TV in Birmingham at 3:00 p.m. Sunday and at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
