BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University volleyball fell (4-14) to the Mercer Bears (10-11), 3-0 in a non-conference match on Tuesday night (Oct. 19) at Seibert Hall. Game scores were as follows: 32-30, 32-30, 30-16. Kristin Berryman finished the game with 12 kills.
Mercer took the first game, 32-30 and finished with a total of 14 kills, 14 errors and 47 total attacks with an attack percentage of .000, while the Bulldogs recorded 10 kills, 10 errors and 50 total attacks with an attack percentage of .000.
The Bears captured in the second game, 30-18. Mercer recorded 19 kills, nine errors and 53 total attacks with an attack percentage of .189, while the Bulldogs posted 19 kills, eight errors and 52 total attacks with an attack percentage of .222.
Mercer finished with the match win, after dominating the third game with a final score of 30-16. The Bears recorded 16 kills, two errors and 35 total attacks with a game-high attack percentage of .400.
The Bulldogs will play host to OVC rivals Tennessee Tech and Austin Peay this weekend, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 22-23 at Seibert Hall on the campus of Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
