Samford Volleyball Falls To Tennessee Tech, 3-1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University volleyball team fell in conference play to Tennessee Tech, 3-1 on Friday night at Seibert Hall. Match scores were as follows: 30-26, 30-28, 30-23, 30-24. Bulldog's recorded a season-high of 23 block assists. Samford's team leader were Kristin Berryman with 14 kills and Angela Dempski with 10 kills, two errors and 18 total attacks with a individual team-high attack percentage of .444 and a match high of six block assists.

The Golden Eagles took the first game, 30-26. Tennessee Tech recorded 15 kills, eight errors and 38 total attacks with an attack percentage of .184. Bulldogs recorded only eight kills, seven errors and 32 total attacks with an attack percentage .031.

Tennessee Tech won the second game, 30-28. The Bulldogs posted 18 kills, seven errors and 52 total attacks with an attack percentage of .212, while the Golden Eagles 17 kills, seven errors and 46 total attack with of .217.

The Bulldogs captured the third game, 30-23. Samford recorded 12 kills, five errors and 42 total attacks with an attack percentage of .167. Tennessee Tech recorded 13 kills, 12 errors and 53 total attacks with an attack percentage of .019.

The Golden Eagles took the match, after winning the fourth game, 30-24. Tennessee Tech recorded a game high of 19 kills, eight errors and 55 total attacks with a match-high attack percentage of .200. The Bulldogs finished the fourth game with 14 kills, eight errors and 51 total attacks with an attack percentage of .118.

The Bulldogs also recorded 11.5 team blocks, while Tennessee Tech posted only seven.

The Bulldogs play host to Austin Peay tomorrow (Sat., Oct 23) at Seibert Hall on the campus of Samford University. Match time is set for a 2 p.m. start.
