Football Hires Caine As New Defensive Assistant

Feb. 24, 2004

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford head football coach Bill Gray announced the hiring of Adam Caine as a new addition to his staff on Tuesday.

"Adam brings a lot of experience to our staff," Gray said. "He has worn a lot of hats in his short time in this business. He is familiar with Samford and with the Birmingham area. We are glad to have him join our staff. This completes our staff, and we are excited about that."

Caine, who will be the defensive assistant working with the secondary, comes to Samford after one year at Austin Peay, where he worked with the quarterbacks and receivers. Prior to his stint at Austin Peay, Caine spent three seasons at Washington and Lee. Caine also coached at John Carroll High School in Birmingham from 1994-2001, and he worked as an offensive assistant at Samford from 1993-94.

Caine owns Bachelor of Science degrees from both Birmingham-Southern and UAB, and a Master's Degree from Austin Peay.
