Women's Tennis Dominates Alabama A&M, 6-1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford women's tennis team defeated Alabama A&M 6-1 Thursday afternoon at the Darwin C. Hardison Tennis Center. The Bulldogs (6-3, 2-0 OVC) swept the doubles competition and won three-of-four singles matches.

Samford only yielded one point in two doubles matches, as Katie Crawford and Emily Nunnally had no problems on court one, winning 8-1. On court two, Jen Pharr and Bethany Benson improved to 7-1 on the season with an 8-0 victory.

In singles Sarah McKey had no problem on court four winning 6-0, 6-0. While on court three, Emily White disposed of Jennifer Turner 6-1, 6-0. Nunnally came from behind and won on court one, 6-7, 6-0, 10-7.

Samford returns to Ohio Valley Conference action tomorrow afternoon against Tennessee-Martin. The match will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Darwin C. Hardison Tennis Center and is a doubleheader with the Samford men.
