Men's Tennis Drops Match to Furman, 5-2

March 13, 2004

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Samford men's tennis team fell 5-2 to Furman Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs won two-of-six singles matches, but could muster no more from the stingy Paladins. Freshmen Stuart Misner and Rob Nunnery won both of their matches for Samford.

Following two-consecutive shutout wins, the Bulldogs could not get anything working in the doubles competition and were swept in all three matches.

Misner and Nunnery continued to be bright spots for the young Bulldog squad. Misner's 6-3, 7-5, win on court three upped his overall record to 8-5, but he is 7-2 playing No. 3. Nunnery's season mark is also impressive following his 6-1, 6-2, victory on court four. The Conyers, Ga. native, is now 7-3 playing No. 4 and 9-4 overall.

The Bulldogs' next match will be in Birmingham, Ala., but on the road as UAB plays host to Samford on Tuesday, March 16. at 2:00 p.m.
