NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Samford freshman Stuart Misner has been named Ohio Valley Conference Male Tennis Athlete of the Week by the league office. Misner went 3-1 last week playing No. 3 for the Bulldogs.

Against Alabama A&M, Misner won 6-2, 6-4 in singles. In doubles he teamed up with Rob Nunnery and won 8-3 on court two.

In the conference tilt against Tennessee-Martin, Misner lost only one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Daniel McGuire. While the team dropped a match to Furman, Misner continued to shine, with a 6-3, 7-5 win on court three.

Misner is now 7-3 and 2-1 in the OVC playing No. 3 on the season.
