Samford football supporters gathered in Bashinsky Fieldhouse Tuesday for a season-ticket appreciation dinner. The football weather outside on a cold, rainy evening coincided with the launching of the season-ticket renewal and referral program.

Coach Gray addressed the audience about the team's outlook for the fall, and the Samford athletics administration announced the ticket options and referral program for 2004 season tickets.

"The evening was a good start to our goal of increasing football season-ticket revenue," said assistant athletics director and ticket manager Joelle Akridge. "We have several options available, and we are trying to give people the incentive to refer a new season-ticket buyer by offering some great prizes."

The individual who collects the most referrals that result in new purchases of season tickets wins a package to the Sept. 4 game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta, including lodging, meals and a luxury box view of the game. Second prize is a $250 shopping spree to the Samford merchandise store, and third prize is an autographed Samford football helmet.
