Benson Wins Singles Match Against Birmingham-Southern

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's tennis team competed today (Sept. 26) at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama at the UA Tennis Complex in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Bethany Benson won a singles match against Birmingham-Southern.

Other top performances, Emily White lost in three sets to Louisville and Christie Baker played hard in a loss to Auburn (6-4, 7-5)

"I feel good about today's performance," said head coach Terri Sisk. "We performed better today than we did all weekend. The team played tough and I am pleased with their performance for this tournament. Now we will go home, work on our game and get ready for the next competition."

RECAPPING THE WEEKEND: In day one of competition, freshman Katie McMiller and sophomore White defeated Texas Tech, 8-5, in a second-round doubles match this afternoon.

Other top performances for the Bulldogs in day one, in a doubles match Amber Dyar and sophomore Bethany Benson lost to Auburn in a tie breaker (8-7; 9-7).

In day two of competition, freshman McMiller finished as the Bulldogs to performer, as she lost to Texas Tech (5-7, 6-1, 6-4).

**Sunday's official scores will be updated when made available.

The Bulldogs will travel up the street to the Birmingham-Southern Tournament on Oct. 1-3.
