Football Works On Game Plan For Tennessee Tech

Nov. 1, 2005

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team held a two-hour workout Tuesday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs are continuing to prepare for Saturday's game at Ohio Valley Conference foe Tennessee Tech.

"I thought we worked well," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "It was a nice, cool evening. It was a normal Tuesday, a little rough around the edges. We tried to implement some things unique to Tennessee Tech."

Samford enters the week with a record of 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the OVC. Tennessee Tech is currently 2-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

"They are a well-coached team," Gray said. "They will play hard, and have played hard on all of the films we've seen. They have had some tough luck of late, but they have played extremely hard. They do a lot of things in the kicking game that can cause you problems, so we have to make sure we have gone over everything that can happen. It will be a big challenge to go up to their place and win."

The Bulldogs will practice again on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. at Seibert Stadium. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff from Tucker Stadium in Cookeville, Tenn. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com or www.al.com/wvsu.
