BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford winter baseball camps will again feature current New York Yankee and former Auburn pitcher Colter Bean.
Bean will be serving as an instructor at both of the Casey Dunn Baseball Winter Camps in January. In addition, the staff will include the entire Samford coaching staff as well as additional current and former professional baseball players.
This year, Bean is coming off his first trip up to the major league level. His stint in New York was highlighted by his performance against the Angels, striking out two and allowing one run in closing out the Yankees' victory with his second strikeout. Bean, who starred at Vestavia Hills High School, also holds the Auburn Tiger record of 108 games pitched in his outstanding college career. He will return to spring training again this year in hopes of returning to the majors.
The youth camp is January 14 and 15 while the high school camp is set for January 21 and 22. Detailed information can be found on the baseball page at www.samfordsports.com. For more information, contact the baseball office at 726-4095.
