BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford baseball team will play host to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs in a three-game series this weekend at Joe Lee Griffin Field.

Samford enters the game with a record of 1-3 after a 5-2 loss to Montevallo on Wednesday. UNC Asheville is currently 0-3 after being swept in a three-game series at Alabama last weekend.

In game one, Samford will start junior Stephen Artz. In game two on Saturday, the Bulldogs' starter will be sophomore Joseph Edens, while Sunday's starter is scheduled to be junior Scott Fowler.

Statistically for Samford, Matt Alling, Justin Worthington, Bear Burnett and Garrett Rice lead the team in hits with five apiece. Alling leads the team in RBI with five, while Rice has driven in four runs.

The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., and a single game on Sunday, also at 1:00 p.m. Fans can follow the games via Gametracker on www.samfordsports.com.
