BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Work efforts by construction crews were hampered by rain for several days this past week as they attempted to complete the surface work at Seibert Stadium. As the weather finally cleared, progress was able to be made, and Friday, the first loads of rubber and sand were spread over the field. This layer is necessary to give the surface its cushion and bounce.

Updated photos will be posted on Monday, after what is expected to be a busy weekend of work.
