Women's Basketball Game Notes In PDF Format

The Samford women's basketball team will conclude its current road swing with a game at Jacksonville State Saturday night at 5:00 p.m.
Samford enters the game with a record of 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference after a 58-50 loss at Tennessee-Martin Thursday night. Jacksonville State is currently 2-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play after a 63-59 loss at Austin Peay Thursday night.
Samford and Jacksonville State will be meeting for the 20th time, with Jacksonville State holding a 12-7 advantage in the series. Earlier this season, Samford defeated Jacksonville State, 78-61, in Birmingham on Dec. 8.
Samfords' 9-3 start is the best start after 12 games in the eight-plus season history of the program. The 1999-2000 team posted a record of 8-4 after 12 games.
Sophomore Alex Munday leads Samford in both scoring (16.1 ppg.) and rebounding (5.9 rpg.). Senior Cora Beth Smith is the team-leader in assists (3.5 apg.).
