Women's Basketball To Play At Tennessee State Thursday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to take on the Tennessee State Lady Tigers Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.

Samford enters the game with a record of 14-6 overall and 9-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference after a 67-66 overtime loss at Murray State. Tennessee State is currently 0-19 overall and 0-12 in conference play after an 82-47 loss to Jacksonville State on Monday.

Samford and Tennessee State will be meeting for the sixth time with Samford holding a 4-1 advantage in the series. Earlier this season, Samford defeated Tennessee State, 67-42, at Seibert Hall.

So far this season, Samford is 6-4 away from Seibert Hall. The team is 6-3 in road games and 0-1 in neutral site games. Last season, the Bulldogs posted a record of 6-11 away from home, including a 4-10 record in road games, and a 2-1 mark at neutral sites.

Alex Munday, who has led Samford in scoring in 13 of the last 14 games, currently leads the team in scoring (16.9 ppg.) and rebounding (5.7 rpg.). Cora Beth Smith leads the team in assists, dishing out 3.7 assists per contest.
