Men's Golf Completes Day One Of ASU Indian Classic

JONESBORO, Ark. ---- The Samford University men's golf team is in 11th place following two rounds of competition at the 10th Annual ASU Indian Classic, hosted by Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., on Monday.

The Bulldogs shot a 305 in round one and a 303 in round two to combine for a 32-over-par 608. The Bulldogs are currently in 11th place after playing two rounds of the 54-hole tournament.

Reed Davis and Nathan Turner led the Bulldogs, tying for 21st after firing 150. Davis shot a 77 in round one and a 73 in round two. Turner shot a 75 in both rounds. Ryan Mayberry shot a 153 to tie for 42nd, firing a 77 in round one and a 76 in round two. Andrew Villarreal shot a 78 in the first round and a 79 in the second round, to tie for 64th with a combined 157. Bradley Pate rounded out the top-five for the Bulldogs, shooting a 160 to tie for 69th. Pate shot a 76 in the first round, and followed up with an 84 in the second round.

The final round of the 10th Annual ASU Indian Classic is set to tee off on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Results will be posted at www.asuindians.com following the conclusion of the tournament.
