BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford football team practiced for about an hour and a half in helmets and shorts Thursday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The practice was the final full practice before Saturday's Ohio Valley Conference game at Southeast Missouri.
Head Coach Bill Gray said a few players will see added playing time due to injuries.
"Mitchell Waters will see some time up front, and normally he is in a backup role," Gray said. "We have full confidence in him, he can play every position up front on the offensive line. He is probably the most valuable offensive lineman we have simply because he can play all three positions.
"Defensively, Jonathan Vance and Brent Nall will see more snaps at the ends simply because of some things that Michael Hall is working through, though we still hope Michael will be able to go on game day." Gray said. "David Fisher (defensive lineman) is another one who has been out all year and will have a chance to play some for us on Saturday."
Samford will depart campus Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. for Cape Girardeau, Mo. Saturday night's game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff from Southeast Missouri's Houck Stadium.
The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.al.com/wvsu or www.samfordsports.com. The game can also be viewed on the internet via live streaming at www.ovcsports.tv.
