Women's Basketball Travels To Austin Peay Saturday

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The Samford women's basketball team will play at Austin Peay in an Ohio Valley Conference contest Saturday night at the Dunn Center.

Samford enters the game with a record of 10-10 overall and 5-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference after a 63-51 loss at Tennessee-Martin Thursday night. Austin Peay is currently 7-12 overall and 6-4 in conference play after an 83-74 win over Jacksonville State Thursday night.

Samford and Austin Peay are meeting for the seventh time with the series tied, 3-3. Last season, the teams split the season series, with each team winning on the road. Austin Peay won the first meeting, 60-59, in overtime at Seibert Hall. Samford took the game in Clarksville by a score of 45-41.

Samford is led in scoring by junior forward Alex Munday, averaging 12.9 points per game. Senior forward Veronica Pike leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.2 rebounds per game. Junior guard Taryn Towns is the team-leader in assists, dishing out 2.6 assists per contest.
