LEXINGTON, Ky. ---- Senior Bulldogs Jordan Delass and Renan Silveira represented the Samford tennis team this weekend at the ITA Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Kentucky. Delass won his consolation bracket while Silveira was putout in the semifinal round of his bracket.

Delass fell to Boris Conkic of Tennessee (1-6, 7-5, 6-4) in the first round of play on Thursday. That sent him to the consolation bracket in which he would sweep through to earn the championship title. Delass defeated Carlsson of LSU (6-1, 6-4), DeWeerdt of Georgia Southern (6-1, 6-3), Mulligan of Florida (6-2, 6-0), Doerr of Mississippi State (6-1, 6-1), and finally Krivka of Southeastern Louisiana (6-2, 6-1) to win the consolation bracket.

Silveira defeated South Florida's Estrado (6-3, 6-2) in the first round of his bracket and Das of Eastern Kentucky (6-4, 6-3) in round two before falling to Vallverdu of Miami (6-3, 6-2) and Farlow of Mississippi State (5-1, ret.).

In doubles action the tandem won their first two matches, defeating Lang and Tweedt of Tennessee, 8-1, and Smarek and Hodel of South Alabama in a walkover before falling to Agostinelli and Cox of Kentucky, 8-5.

The whole Samford men's team will compete in their final fall tournament this coming weekend, Oct. 26 - 28. The Bulldogs will take part in the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational hosted by the University of Alabama.
