TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ---- The Samford men's tennis wrapped up day one at the Crimson Tide Men's Classic hosted by the University of Alabama. Teams played one round of singles and two rounds of double to start of the three-day tournament.
Samford's Jordan Delass advanced to the quarterfinals of the Bryant singles bracket as he defeated Daniel Plasa of Auburn-Montgomery, 6-1, 6-1. Saturday's singles action begins at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
In doubles action, Delass and doubles partner Renan Silveira defeated Pepperdine duo Altman/Lemke, 8-6, in the round of 16 but would fall to Virginia tandem Angelilnos/Singer, 8-4, in the quarterfinals.
All tournament action resumes at 9 a.m., Saturday morning and will wrap up Sunday evening.
