BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Samford junior pitcher Trent Hill was named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll on Tuesday after his performance against Arkansas State last weekend.

Hill, a transfer from Mississippi State and a native of Jasper, Ala., pitched 7.0 innings to earn the win in Saturday's 2-0 win over Arkansas State. Hill allowed just two hits, struck out seven batters and walked just one.

Earlier in the week, Hill was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Pitcher of the Week for his performance.

Samford will return to action Tuesday afternoon when the Bulldogs play host to Middle Tennessee at 3:00 p.m. at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
