COLUMBIA, S.C. ---- The Samford men's tennis team wrapped up a full weekend in the Carolinas, falling to the 39th-ranked University of South Carolina Gamecocks Sunday, 4-1. This was the second match against a nationally ranked team for the Bulldog men this season.
Samford was victorious in one match in both the doubles and singles rounds. The Bulldogs' number one duo, Renan Silveira and Sam Huffman defeated nationally ranked (No. 42) Gamecock duo Yevgeny Supeko and Pedro Campos, 8-3, while Huffman beat Ivan Cressoni at the No. 4 singles court, 6-2, 6-1.
The Samford men will be back in action Saturday, March 3, as they return home to take on Southeast Missouri. Match play starts at noon.
