Baseball Plays At Auburn Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford baseball team will play at 24th-ranked Auburn Tuesday afternoon at Plainsman Park.

Samford enters the game with a record of 4-4 after dropping two of three games to Kennesaw State over the weekend. Samford is led at the plate by Parker Gargis and Michael Marseco, each batting .394. Gargis and Louis Rojas are tied for the team lead in home runs with two each. Trent Hill has been Samford's leading pitcher so far with a 2-0 record and a 0.64 ERA. Tuesday's starter, Chandler Tidwell has a 1-0 record and a 1.00 ERA.

Auburn is 10-1 so far this season, and the Tigers are ranked 24th in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll. The Tigers are coming off a 20-5 win at South Alabama on Sunday. Mike Bianucci leads Auburn at the plate with a .463 batting average, five home runs and 17 RBI. Josh Donaldson is batting .452 with a team-high 19 RBI. Tuesday's starter Taylor Thompson has a 1-0 record and a 4.15 ERA.

Last season, Samford and Auburn split their season series. Auburn won the game in Auburn, 6-4, while Samford took the game at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium by a score of 5-4.
