BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford women's tennis team gears up for its second meeting with a conference opponent this weekend as they play host to the Southeast Missouri Redhawks this Saturday.

"It is exciting to be opening up our regular season conference schedule at home against SEMO," Samford head coach Terri Sisk said. "The girls are healthy and ready to really get into the season. With only three matches under our belts, we are ready to compete. We have set our goals high this year and are ready to back up what we have been working hard for."

The Bulldogs (come off a solid weekend where they split matches with Georgia State and Kennesaw State. Samford lost its first match on Saturday to a tough Georgia State team, but were able to come out on top with a sweep win against Kennesaw State on Sunday.

Match play between the Bulldogs and Redhawks begins Saturday at noon in the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion on the Samford campus. For a full recap and results, visit www.samfordsports.com.
