Samford Men Earn Third-Straight Win With Victory Over Racers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's tennis team captured its third consecutive win Saturday as the Bulldogs defeated Murray State Saturday. The Bulldogs won the match, 6-1, and now improve to 6-4 (3-0 OVC).
Renan Silveira and Sam Huffman started the match with a loss in the No. 1 doubles court, but Stuart Misner and Hank Grant as well as Brian Dushock and Kelwin DeWet pulled the Bulldogs back into the match with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 courts respectively.
In singles, Silveira dropped the No. 1 match in two sets of 6-3, but the Bulldogs would go on to win five straight. Misner would play the toughest match as he went three sets in the No. 2 court, finally pulling out the win.
The Samford men will join the Samford women Sunday to conclude the weekend in an afternoon match against the men and women from Mercer. Match play will start at 1 p.m.
