BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's tennis team won its fourth straight conference match Thursday over OVC foe Eastern Illinois. The Bulldog improve to 8-4 overall, 4-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Samford grabbed its fourth 7-0 sweep over an opponent; its second over an OVC foe. Stuart Misner and Hank Grant took an 8-5 win at the No. 2 doubles court, while Renan Silveira and Sam Huffman in the No. 1 court and Brian Dushock and Kelwin DeWet at the No. 3 court both took 8-6 wins over their opponents.

In singles, Misner, in the No.1 court, and Manuel Miletic, in the No. 2 court, both went three sets with Panther opponents but would come out with the win. Huffman, Grant and Dushock all won their matches in two sets, while DeWet defeated his opponent 8-5.

Samford will now go on to another full weekend of match play as they head to Brookhaven, Miss., to take on three non-conference opponents. Friday, the Bulldogs meet the Golden Eagles of Southern Mississippi at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the Samford men then have an early morning meeting with Alcorn State, followed by a late afternoon match with Nicholls State at 5 p.m.
