BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford University women's golf team will host the annual Samford Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday, March 19-20. The tournament will be held at the Timberline Golf Course in Calera, Ala., just outside the Birmingham area.
The two-day event includes 15 teams, eight coming from the Ohio Valley Conference. Teams participating are: Austin Peay, Belmont, Centenary, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Murray State, Nicholls State, Samford, South Alabama, Tennessee Tech, Troy, West Florida, and Western Kentucky.
Katelyn Stanier, Heather Arnold, Maria Troch, Kellie O'Connell, and Brooke Barriento will be competing on the Samford team. Also participating for the Bulldogs as individuals will be Courtney Warr, Stephanie Larson, Caroline Herman, and Ashleigh Hicks.
The 54-hole tournament will be held at Timberline Golf Course in Calera, Ala. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday at the par-71, 5,823-yard course. Each day will start with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
After each round of play, standings will be posted on www.samfordsports.com. A full recap and results will also be posted on the website after the conclusion of round three on Tuesday.
