The Samford baseball team will play host to the Memphis Tigers in a pair of midweek games this week at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
The Bulldogs enter the week with a record of 5-7 after dropping two of three games at Mercer over the weekend. Memphis is currently 7-1 after defeating Eastern Illinois, 5-4, on Sunday. After dropping their first game of the season, the Tigers have now won seven games in a row.
Samford is led at the plate by Parker Gargis, batting .370. He also leads the team in hits (17) and home runs (4). Garrett Rice is the team leader in RBI with seven.
Samford's top starting pitchers have been Chandler Tidwell (1-1, 1.69 ERA), Trent Hill (2-1, 2.84 ERA) and Josh Ehmke (2-1, 4.82 ERA). Closer Joseph Edens has posted four saves already this season and has a 2.45 ERA.
Memphis is led by Bill Moss, batting .438 with three home runs and six RBI. Mark Doll leads the pitching staff with a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA in 8.0 innings of work.
