TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ---- The Samford men's tennis team dropped their third consecutive match Thursday to the nationally-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs now fall to 11-8, 6-2 OVC.
The No. 15-ranked Tide came out and swept the doubles point from Samford, but the Bulldogs did not give up yet. At the No. 2 court, Stuart Misner took nationally-ranked (82) Joseph Jung to three sets before finally dropping the match. Misner jumped out with the 6-4 early lead in the first set, but Jung would come back and take the last two sets 6-4, 6-1.
The Samford men will join the Samford women this weekend in their last weekend of regular-season play as they travel to OVC opponents Austin Peay and UT Martin. The Bulldogs will face off with Austin Peay Saturday beginning at noon then they will take on UT-Martin Sunday at 10 a.m.
