Football Gears Up For Final Practice Before Spring Game

April 20, 2007

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford football team held its 13th practice of the spring season Friday afternoon in preparation for the Red and Blue Game to be played next Thursday, April 26, at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs have one more practice remaining before the spring game.

The Bulldogs donned full pads in the action-packed practice at Seibert Stadium. The team focused on several real-game situations after running their regular drills.

"We worked on some situation plays, from going in on the goal line and coming off on the goal line," Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said. "It was a very spirited practice. We had some long-yardage situations that I thought were pretty good."

Sullivan and the Bulldogs are looking forward to Thursday's scrimmage. The Bulldog head coach has been pleased with the team and the work that they have put in during the spring season.

"I like our football team," said Sullivan. "They are beat up now, but we only have one more practice before our final scrimmage. I like their attitude and we just have to keep them going."

The Samford football team will hold its final spring practice Monday at Seibert Stadium before playing the final spring scrimmage Thursday evening.
