BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University men's golf team has signed four junior standouts to the 2008 Bulldog roster. Each incoming player ranks at the top in junior golfers in their states.
Martin Bunt, a native of Pensacola, Fla., is one of the outstanding junior players in Florida. The Pensacola Catholic High School senior was named a Golfweek top junior and looks to be a great asset to the Samford program.
Samford has also signed Chris Duffy, out of Louisville, Ky., one of the top junior players in Kentucky as well as Michael Baird, of Knoxville, Tenn., one of the top Tennessee juniors.
Finally, Ian Cutting is a talented transfer from Central Alabama Community College. The academically successful student-athlete led the CACC varsity golf team to two outstanding years, including one NJCAA National Championship.
"These four players have a chance to change the face of Samford Men's Golf," Samford head coach Woodie Eubanks said. "We look forward to what they will bring to our program, and we are excited to have this incoming freshman class."
