BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford baseball team will travel to Troy, Ala., to take on the Troy Trojans Tuesday night at Riddle-Pace Field.
Samford enters the game with a record of 16-17 overall and 3-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play after winning two of three games at Austin Peay over the weekend. Troy is currently 19-14 overall and 7-5 in the Sun Belt Conference after taking two of three games from 14th-ranked Coastal Carolina over the weekend.
Samford is led at the plate by Michael Marseco, batting .366. His 48 hits also lead the team. Parker Gargis leads the Bulldogs in home runs with 10 and RBI with 27.
Clint Robinson has led the Trojans at the plate, batting .380 with 11 home runs, 12 doubles and 44 RBI.
Samford is scheduled to start David Knapp (1-1, 4.45 ERA) on the mound. Troy's starter is scheduled to be Ryan Ellison (2-1, 7.58 ERA).
Last season, Samford took both of its meetings with Troy. Samford won the games, both played at Joe Lee Griffin Field, by scores of 9-8 and 6-5.
