BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
For the third year in a row, the Samford baseball recruiting class earned a national ranking when Collegiate Baseball released its recruiting-class rankings on Tuesday.
The Bulldog recruiting class is ranked 74th in the nation by the publication. The ranking is the most of any team in the Ohio Valley Conference, and it is higher than any team in the Southern Conference, which Samford will move into following the upcoming season.
The class ranks third in the state of Alabama, behind only Auburn University and the University of Alabama, and it ranks 26th among teams in the Southeast.
The class consists of 13 signees, including nine high school signees, two junior college transfers and two Division I transfers.
Samford is coming off its first back-to-back winning seasons since 1965, and the team has reached the final day of the OVC Tournament the last two years in a row.
