CHICAGO, Ill. ---- The Samford volleyball team placed second in the DePaul Invitational this weekend. The Bulldogs, runners-up to host team DePaul, went 2-1 in the tournament beating South Alabama and Kennesaw State Saturday and losing to DePaul Friday night.

Junior outside hitter Sara Sears and sophomore middle blocker Sheriden Stangohr were selected to the DePaul Invitational All-Tournament team. Sears played 12 games this weekend and posted 38 kills (3.17 kpg), 38 digs (3.17 dpg) and five aces while hitting .225 percent. Stangohr also played 12 games and led the Bulldogs in average hitting with .421. She also had 28 kills (2.33 kpg) and 14 blocks (1.17 bpg).
