Women's Basketball Game Notes In PDF Format

The Samford women's basketball team will play host to Eastern Kentucky Saturday afternoon for the team's Senior Day at the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford enters the game with a record of 19-6 overall and 12-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play after a 59-57 win over Morehead State Thursday. EKU is currently 12-9 overall and 7-7 in league play after a 104-75 win at Jacksonville State on Thursday.
Samford and Eastern Kentucky are meeting for the 11th time with EKU holding a 6-4 advantage in the series. Earlier this season, EKU defeated Samford, 72-45, in Richmond, Ky. on Jan. 19.
In Thursday's win over Morehead State, Monica Maxwell made two free throws with four seconds left to give Samford the win. Maxwell led Samford with 18 points. Alex Munday scored 14 points and Savannah Hill added 12.
For the season, freshman Emily London leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.0 points per game. Maxwell is second on the team in scoring, with an average of 10.3 points per game.
Hill leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 4.9 rebounds per game. Maxwell and London are tied for second in rebounding with an average of 3.9 rebounds per game.
Senior Taryn Towns is the team-leader in assists, dishing out 3.8 assists per game. London is second in the category, with an average of 2.5 assists per game.
Prior to Saturday's game, the team's three seniors will be honored as they are playing their last regular-season game at the Pete Hanna Center. The three seniors are MaKenzie Spruiell, Towns and Munday. These three seniors have posted the most wins of any class in the program's history. Over the last four years, this group has led Samford to 71 wins.
Saturday is also Think Pink Day to support breast cancer awareness. All fans who wear pink to the game will receive $4 off the admission price. Twenty percent of all ticket revenue will be donated to V.I.R.T.U.E. Inc. At halftime of the game, breast cancer survivors will be honored.
