BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford women's tennis team extended its undefeated conference streak Friday evening with a win over the Austin Peay women. The Bulldogs defeated the Lady Govs, 7-0, to improve to 9-2 overall, 3-0 OVC.
The Bulldog started off with a sweep of the doubles matches before they swept each singles match from their opponents. Freshman Taylor Morgan got her first start at the No. 1 position and came back from a 5-7 deficit in the first set to win the last two sets, 7-5, 1-0. That sparked a streak in which the last five players dominated their opponents and walked away with wins.
The Samford women will be back in action on Sunday as they play a non-conference match against Houston. Match play is set for noon on Sunday at Samford's Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion.
