BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men's and women's tennis teams open up Ohio Valley Conference play Saturday as they host the Skyhawks of Tennessee-Martin. The match up will be the second home match for each team.

The Samford men enter Saturday's match with a record of 3-4. The Bulldog men hope to even their record with a win over their conference opponent and begin the OVC season on a good note. They come off a small break from playing since their last match was a win at defending OVC champion Jacksonville State.

The women, picked to win the conference again this year, come fresh off a 6-1 win over Florida A&M Thursday, which pushed their record to 6-2 on the season. The Samford women also look to start the conference slate off right with a win over a bitter rival in the Skyhawks.

Match play begins for the women a 1 p.m. while the men follow at 2 p.m. at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion. A recap and results will be available at www.samfordsports.com.
