BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Samford senior tennis player Jordan Delass has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Wednesday. Voted on by conference officials, the Player of the Week award goes to the conference player who has turned in an outstanding performance in the previous week.

Delass went 2-0 on the weekend against Conference opponents. He defeated Eastern Illinois' No. 2 player Vuk Milicevic (7-5, 6-2) Saturday before blanking Murray State's Yuri Pompeu (6-0, 6-0) at the No. 1 position on Sunday. The wins moved Delass to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in OVC play.

Delass and the Bulldogs will try Wednesday to extend their OVC win streak to six as they face Tennessee State in an afternoon match at the TSU Tennis Courts. The Bulldogs will then host Alabama at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion.
