Samford's 2008 Soccer Media Guide was ranked fourth in District 4 and 25th in the nation, it was announced Wednesday as the College Sports Information Directors of America's (CoSIDA) annual media guide competition results were released. The 96-page publication was honored for the third-consecutive season as one of the top media guides in the Mid-South Region.
Samford's fourth-place finish in District 4 trailed the first- and second-place media guides from Tennessee and Ohio State. The publication's finish earned the school's third-consecutive ranking in the Mid-South Region. CoSIDA's District 4 encompasses all of the Division I universities located in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
Samford's women's soccer media guide also placed 25th in the nation. Texas A&M's publication was named the best in the country, while Tennessee placed second and Nebraska finished third.
Samford's 2008 Soccer Media Guide was written, edited and produced by assistant sports information director Zac Schrieber. Janica York Carter served as the Director of Creative Services, while Laine Williams contributed as the Copy Editor. Samford's graphic design corps comprised of Scott Camp, Carlie Stamper and Monica Washington designed the layout of the award-winning media guide.
Samford's staff photographers Caroline Baird Summers and Ann Wade Parrish provided the photos for the annual publication.
The 2008 Samford Soccer Media Guide is a 96-page publication that showcased the Bulldogs' historical 2007 season as well as their transition from the Ohio Valley Conference to the esteemed Southern Conference. The yearly production includes biographical information of all players and coaches, along with the school's record book and historical facts.
