Box Score

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Chattanooga quarterback B.J. Coleman passed for 319 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Mocs' football team to a 48-14 win over Samford in Southern Conference action Saturday afternoon at Finley Stadium.

Samford falls to 4-6 overall and 3-5 in league play with the loss. Chattanooga improves to 6-4 overall and 5-2 in SoCon games.

"Chattanooga is a very good football team," Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said. "On offense, they have a good quarterback, they have a good scheme, they have good wideouts, their offensive line played well and their running backs are both really good players. Defensively, they have a lot of ability as well.

"On the other hand, we didn't play like we are capable today," Sullivan said. "You only get so many opportunities to throw your hat in the ring, and we didn't play like we can play today."

For Samford, Chris Evans rushed 18 times for 57 yards and a touchdown. Evans has now rushed for 1,015 yards so far this season, marking his fourth-straight season of over 1,000 yards rushing. Saturday's performance broke a string of five-consecutive games of rushing for over 100 yards.
