Davis Named Mid-Major Stud Of The Night By FoxSports.com

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For his performance in Samford's 78-54 Southern Conference victory at Chattanooga on Wednesday, the Bulldogs' Josh Davis was named the Mid-Major Stud of the night by FoxSports.com and staff writer Jeff Goodman.

Davis, Samford's junior sharpshooter from Lubbock, Texas, scored a career-high 30 points against Chattanooga and tied his career-high with seven 3-point field goals. Davis finished 10-of-17 from the field and 7-of-13 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and added two assists.

Goodman, who hands out the nightly awards for FoxSports.com, also highlighted New Mexico's Darington Hobson who compiled 16 points and 13 rebounds in the Lobo's road win at UNLV on Wednesday.

The Samford University basketball team will next be in action Saturday at 2 p.m. (CST) as the Bulldogs play host to the Wofford Terriers at the Pete Hanna Center. Saturday's home game will be Samford's first in Birmingham, Ala., since Jan. 30.
