Samford Pole Vaulters Highlight Success At Auburn

GAINESVILLE, Fla. ---- The Samford University pole vaulters highlighted the Bulldogs' success at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic while the Samford relay teams were top ten finishers at the Pepsi Florida Relays to round out Saturday's track and field action.

At the Tiger Track Classic, Laura Bedsole and Mary Barron took first and third places respectively in the women's pole vault event. Bedsole recorded a personal best of 11-07.75 while Barron vaulted a personal best of 11-01.75.

On the men's side, Ryan Cook and Zac Epperson took second and fourth places respectively. Cook posted a personal best of 15-01.00 while Epperson came in fourth with the same mark.

Also at Auburn, Chenelle Terry tied for sixth place in the women's high jump with a height of 5-05.75. Julie McDonald placed 22nd in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.07 while Ashley Bridenbaugh took 15th place in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best of 1:06.97.

Zac Cordner came in 19th in the men's 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 49.64 while Ramsey White took 14th in the men's 800 meters with a personal best of 1:57.01. Jillian Klassen also placed 15th in the 3000 meters with a personal best of 10:54.40.

At the Pepsi Florida Relays, Patrick Wells and Michael Seaman tied for 14th place, each clearing a height of 16-02.75. Thomas Oliver also placed 13th in the javelin with a mark of 189-08.

In the relays, Bo Ackerson-Gilroy, Brandon Bassett, Donald Cooper and Cavan Corcoran took fourth in the men's 4x110-meter shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:05.34. Scott Cope, Chas Keithan, Will Denton and White took eighth in the men's 4x800-meter relay with a time of 7:46.78.

In the women's distance medley relay, Lauren D'Alessio, Tatum Moffett, Holly Benson and Hillary Neal placed sixth with a time of 11:55.76.

Next up for the Samford track and field team is the Ole Miss Invitational on April 10 in Oxford, Miss.
