BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford marketing department released the new student rewards program at freshman orientation on Monday.

Students will be able to receive free gifts and prizes simply by attending athletic events. With each Samford athletic event attended, rewards program members earn credits. As points are accumulated, D-O-G-S-! prize levels are reached. With each new prize level, members receive another FREE giveaway.

Each month, there also is a raffle for an exclusive prize for all active members from that month. The contest begins Sept. 1, 2010, and ends April 30, 2011.

Point System
Earn credits by attending athletic events. Each event is worth a different amount of credits, depending on the sport.

1-Football
2-Men's Basketball, Baseball
3-Soccer, Volleyball
4-Women's Basketball, Softball, Tennis
5-Red Sea Membership

Bonus credits are offered periodically throughout the year.
• Select "double points" games
• Select "points for Samford attire" games

Rules
• Student member cards must be scanned between the time the gates open until 30 minutes into the event.
• Students must present their student ID card at each event to receive credit.
• Students can only scan their own ID card.
• Students competing in an athletic event and/or students working at an athletic event CANNOT receive reward points for that event.
• All dates and times of events are subject to change.

Point Levels
D: 5 credits--Samford Athletics Cup, Free Firehouse Sub
O: 15 credits--Samford Drawstring Bag OR Gym Shorts
G: 30 credits--Samford Dri-fit shirt OR Duffle Bag
S: 50 credits--Samford Pullover Fleece
!: 75 credits--Autographed Item from Samford Coach of Choice

Prizes will be awarded as follows:
Grand Prize--iPad OR 40" flat-screen TV
First Runner Up--$250 gift card
Second Runner Up--$100 gift card

Top 10 Student Reward Members--VIP experience with Samford head coach(es), including picture with coach(es) (location, date and time TBD).

Top 25 Student Reward Members--Outing at the Birmingham Barons, including tickets and food.

Fan of the Month--A drawing will be held each month (September-April), and the winner will receive a prize and be featured on www.samfordsports.com.

Rookie of the Year--The freshman who earns the most credits will receive a prize.
