Question #1:
Can we meet with a prospect in the morning if they have a competition later in the day?
Answer #1:
No you can't! You must always check with the prospects (whether you are doing a courtesy thing or not) that they aren't here in Birmingham for competition -- if they are, they're on their own for tours and Samford Athletic staff have to stay away.
Question #2:
I want to remove a scholarshipped athlete from my team. Can I?
Answer #2:
Not easily -- but it will absolutely help you if you have presented to your team a set of reasonable team rules, had them sign off that they will adhere to them, and then if/when there are issues, you have some good documented back up on file for the 'case' to remove them. Please get this done and have the sign-offs for the rules and a set of the rules copied to the compliance office and to your Sport Administrator very soon.
Question #3:
Can I send mail and other general correspondence to Juniors now?
Answer #3:
Yes! September 1st has come and gone, so we're all good with EVERYONE sending general correspondence to 2012's now. Remember that we cannot send printed media guides, we cannot use fancy envelopes and we may only use ONE sheet of headed paper per mailing.
Question #4:
Can we "friend" a prospect on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter?
Answer #4:
Well, this brings up an enormous amount of info and Q+As. You can only follow Tweeters who are "old enough to receive general correspondence" but you can't tweet at them openly. You can add prospects on FaceBook as friends once they hit the "old enough" benchmark, but may not have any interaction with them in any way other than private e-mail and, again, only when they are old enough to receive general correspondence. Don't publicize your recruiting!
