BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University men's tennis team continued its dominant play at home this season Wednesday as the Bulldogs cruised to a 7-0 dual-match victory against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in an in-state contest held at the Samford Tennis Center.

With the win, Samford (2-1) improved to 2-0 at home this season and has not dropped a single match in 18 contests held in Birmingham, Ala. On Saturday, the Bulldogs swept Alabama-Huntsville in similar fashion in their season-opening matchup.

Jacksonville State (2-2) had its two-match winning streak snapped Wednesday. Heading into their meeting with Samford, the Gamecocks were coming off back-to-back victories against Southern Miss 6-1 and Alabama State 7-0.

Samford swept the doubles competition Wednesday and received straight-set singles wins from Carson Kadi, Zac Dunkle, Carl Abalos, Oliver Reynolds, Fernando Costa and Alexander Sajonz.

With his 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Jacksonville State's Nenad Marcec on court No. 3, the Bulldogs' Abalos improved to a perfect 3-0 in singles play this season. All five of Samford's remaining starting singles players moved to 2-1 in dual-match play.

The Bulldogs' doubles combinations of Abalos and Reynolds, and Dunkle and Sajonz both remained undefeated this season and improved to 3-0 in spring play Wednesday.

The Samford University men's tennis team will next be in action Sunday as the Bulldogs play host to both UNC-Asheville and Gadsden State in a dual-match doubleheader to be held at the Samford Tennis Center.
