JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
Josh McCombs, a recent Samford University track signee, was named to the first team of the All-First Coast team by the Florida Times-Union last week.
McCombs, competing for Episcopal High School out of Jacksonville, Fla., was the Class 2A state runner up in the 110-meter hurdles, falling by just 17 hundredths of a second.
In addition to the 110-meter hurdles, McCombs also competes in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 38.89 and high jump, with a leap of 6-5.
McCombs was one of 15 signees released by the Samford track and field program last week. This season, the team will be competing in the new, state of the art, Samford Track and Soccer Stadium. The stadium was opened when Samford played host to the Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in April.
