ATLANTA, Ga. - Samford junior pitcher Michael Gunter has been named to the All-Star team for the Sunbelt Summer League, the league announced recently.

The league's All-Star game will be held on Saturday, July 18th at Oglethorpe University. The evening will begin with a home run derby at 6 p.m., followed the All-Star game, with the first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.

Gunter is a member of the Peachtree City Chukars in the Sunbelt League. He has pitched 19.2 innings so far this summer, giving up just three earned runs for a 1.37 ERA.

Gunter had posted 36 strikeouts, while allowing just three walks.
